Some businesses begin with a detailed business plan. Others start with a moment of inspiration that refuses to go away. For Jasmine Carr, founder of PartyGram.ae, that moment came while watching the Christmas film Elf. Seeing one larger-than-life character walk into people's lives and instantly create happiness sparked a simple thought: why not deliver that same feeling directly to people across the UAE?
That idea became PartyGram, a celebration business built around memorable moments and, perhaps more importantly, unforgettable reactions. From surprise characters arriving at someone's door or workplace to singing telegrams, personalised performances and inflatable pubs and nightclubs, PartyGram is designed for people who want to celebrate in a way nobody is expecting.
From Dubai's Entertainment Scene to PartyGram
Jasmine's move into the world of surprise celebrations makes a lot more sense when you look at her background.
She has lived in Dubai for 18 years and has worked as a General Manager, Entertainment Manager and Event Manager across some of the UAE's leading food and beverage venues. She is also an internationally sought-after female DJ.
That combination has given her years of experience seeing events from almost every angle. She understands entertainment, timing, audiences and the difference between something that simply fills a slot on an event programme and something guests genuinely remember.
PartyGram takes that experience and packages it in a very different way.
Instead of waiting for people to arrive at a venue to be entertained, PartyGram can take the entertainment directly to them.

The Christmas Film That Sparked a Business Idea
The inspiration behind PartyGram came from an unlikely place: a Christmas movie.
Jasmine was watching Elf and loved the idea of one person in costume being able to change the atmosphere around them simply by showing up.
Combined with her lifelong love of parties, it planted the seed for PartyGram.
At the heart of the idea is Jasmine's belief that everyone deserves to feel celebrated. A birthday, anniversary, romantic occasion, office celebration or even a get-well-soon message does not always need another physical gift. Sometimes the best present is an experience and the reaction it creates.
PartyGram's first telegram was a Valentine's Day Cupid who arrived at a Dubai office carrying flowers and a personalised love song. The recipient cried happy tears, the office joined in, and the concept suddenly became very real.
It was exactly the type of reaction Jasmine had hoped PartyGram could create.
What Exactly Is a PartyGram?
Think of PartyGram as part singing telegram, part surprise performance and part organised chaos, in the best possible way.
Customers can arrange PartyGram character performers for birthdays, corporate events and everyday celebrations, with surprise appearances designed around the person being celebrated.
Current character options range from familiar favourites to deliberately outrageous surprises, giving customers plenty of scope to choose something funny, unexpected or completely over the top.
The important part is that the experience is personalised.
PartyGram can tailor performances through the song choice, message and style of the surprise, helping make the experience specific to the person receiving it rather than feeling like a standard character appearance.

Personalised Songs That Make the Surprise Truly Personal
One of PartyGram's more unusual gift ideas is its Personalised Song Gift, which turns a recipient's stories and memories into a completely new song.

Customers can provide details such as the person's name, the occasion, shared memories, inside jokes and the moments that make the relationship unique. PartyGram then uses those details to create a song specifically for that person, turning personal stories into something they can listen to again and again.
It gives people an alternative to a traditional birthday, anniversary or romantic gift and works particularly well for anyone looking for something that feels genuinely personal rather than bought off the shelf.
Personalised music has actually been part of the PartyGram story from the beginning. Its first telegram involved a Valentine's Day Cupid arriving at a Dubai office with flowers and a personalised love song.
That combination of humour, surprise and personal details is a big part of what makes the concept memorable. PartyGram shares more about that first performance and how the business began on its About PartyGram page.
Yes, You Can Have a Pub in Your Garden
PartyGram also offers inflatable nightclub and pub rentals across the UAE.
It is exactly the kind of unusual idea that fits the PartyGram personality.
Instead of hiring a conventional event space, hosts can transform a garden or suitable private space into somewhere completely unexpected. An inflatable pub can become the centrepiece of a birthday or social gathering, while an inflatable nightclub creates a ready-made party environment at home.
For people who have attended countless Dubai brunches, restaurant birthdays and hotel celebrations and want to do something genuinely different, that novelty is part of the appeal.
It is also another example of PartyGram's willingness to move away from the usual format of a celebration and give hosts something their guests are unlikely to have experienced before.

The Reaction Is the Reward
Ask Jasmine what gives her the most satisfaction and the answer is immediate: people's faces.
There is a particular moment when a PartyGram character walks into an office or knocks on someone's front door and the recipient realises the surprise is for them.
As Jasmine puts it, you never forget a face like that.
Those reactions are also what make the concept naturally shareable. Friends reach for their phones, colleagues start filming and family members want to capture what happens next.
The best surprises become stories people continue talking about long after the event itself.
That is a big part of the appeal of PartyGram. It is not simply about sending someone a performer or booking a novelty experience. It is about creating the moment around it.
Building PartyGram From Scratch
Behind all the fun, costumes and inflatable nightclubs has been the less glamorous reality of building a new business.
Jasmine says one of the toughest parts has simply been doing it herself.
Creating the concept, preparing everything for launch and putting the infrastructure in place required a huge amount of work. Just as the business was ready to move forward, uncertainty in the region forced her to pause the launch.
After investing so much energy into getting PartyGram ready, having to stop was a significant setback.
But the business moved forward, and the result is a concept that feels very much like its founder: energetic, entertainment-led and comfortable doing things differently.
Jasmine's years working across Dubai's hospitality, entertainment and events industries have also given her a strong understanding of what it takes to deliver an experience properly, even when the idea itself is intentionally unconventional.
When Someone Needs a Gorilla in Two Hours
Running a surprise entertainment company also comes with some unusual requests.
Among the most stressful are last-minute bookings.
A customer might suddenly decide that what today's birthday celebration really needs is a surprise character turning up at someone's workplace, and they need it to happen within two hours.
That creates an immediate logistical challenge. PartyGram needs to find the right performer, coordinate the character, understand the client's requirements, arrange travel and still make sure the performance is delivered properly.
PartyGram generally asks customers to provide at least a 24-hour window, but Jasmine says the team is always willing to see what might be possible.
It is the events industry's familiar last-minute pressure, just with considerably more costumes involved.
That flexibility can be useful for customers who suddenly realise they want to do something special, but allowing enough notice gives PartyGram more opportunity to prepare the right character, message and overall experience.
Loud, Wacky and Proudly Different
Dubai is home to an enormous events industry, so standing out is not easy.
Jasmine believes PartyGram does that by refusing to be conventional.
She describes the company as the first business of its kind in the UAE and says its personality is unapologetically loud, wacky and outside the box.
That positioning is deliberate.
PartyGram is not trying to blend quietly into an event. The whole point is to create an entrance.
Its mix of personalised songs, character performers, surprise entertainment, inflatable pubs and inflatable nightclubs gives hosts another option when they want something beyond traditional event entertainment.
The concept can also work across a wide range of occasions, from birthdays and anniversaries to office celebrations, romantic surprises and corporate events.
For clients looking for entertainment that instantly becomes a talking point, that willingness to be different is one of PartyGram's biggest strengths.
Creating Stories People Keep Telling
Perhaps the easiest way to understand PartyGram is that it sells the story that comes afterwards.
It is the story about the gorilla that suddenly walked into the office. The unexpected singer at someone's door. The personalised song that referenced an inside joke nobody else would understand. The character who appeared at a birthday. Or the time somebody put an inflatable Irish pub in their garden.
Those are the moments people photograph, film and retell.
After nearly two decades living and working in Dubai's hospitality and entertainment scene, Jasmine Carr has turned her experience into a business centred around exactly those moments.
PartyGram might have started with a Christmas film and a simple idea about spreading joy, but its purpose today is clear: make people feel celebrated, make the surprise personal and give everyone involved a story they will remember.
And if it happens to be a little loud and wacky along the way, that is entirely the point.
